There are only a few days left before the harvest of the Cultifort Clementina Precoz mandarin begins. In this article we describe the main characteristics of our clementine, discovered in Pego in 1998, from an Oronules mutation.

The most interesting characteristics of the Cultifort Clementina Precoz are:

  • EARLIER THAN THE ORONULES
  • DOES NOT DEVELOP MULTIYEMA GALLS
  • VIGOROSE TREE
  • FAST ENTRY INTO PRODUCTION
  • GREAT ADAPTATION TO DIFFERENT PATTERNS
  • FRUIT OF EXCELLENT QUALITY

CULTIFORT EARLY CLEMENTINE

The Cultifort Clementina Precoz stands out for its precocity, since its maturation is between September 15 and October 20, depending on the annual weather. This harvest date means that good sales prices can be obtained.

NO MULTI-YEMA DEVELOPMENT

One of the outstanding advantages of the Cultifort Clementina Precoz variety is that its trunk and branches do not appear bulging with a multitude of buds, as occurs with other Oronules mutations (figure 2). The great vigor of the Cultifort Clementina Precoz is due to the fact that it does not develop these multi-bud galls, which hinder the circulation of the sap, preventing the development of the tree.

Although its development is fast, at Cultifort we recommend throwing the fruits of the first two years, so that the tree forms well and obtain satisfactory productions from 3 years.

GREAT AROMA AND FLAVOR

The fruit of the Cultifort Clementina Precoz is similar to that of Oronules, presenting excellent organoleptic and ripening qualities, as well as good behavior in degreening.

It has a flattened shape, with a vivid and uniform coloration and without seeds, as well as offering a high percentage of juice.

In the 2017 campaign, the extra early Cultifort Clementina Precoz mandarin obtained a production of up to 70 kg/tree in trees between 3 and 5 years old, paying an average of 65 cents/kg and even in some cases, up to 75 cents/kg. cents/kg
