EARLY CLEMENTINE CULTIFORT

CLEMENTINE

History

In 1998, Rafael Sendra, manager of the company Cultifort, detected through direct observation in the Pego area (Alicante) the emergence of a new variety from a spontaneous bud mutation of Oronules grapes. After monitoring it for several seasons, it was researched at the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA) for a decade.

After ten years of research, it was confirmed that it was indeed a new variety of early clementine with unique characteristics. This new variety was patented under the name Cultifort.

The Cultifort early clementine was launched in 2011 and was very well received in the market. It is currently available in many countries and has a strong presence in Spain, Italy, and South Africa.

CLEMENTINE

Main characteristics of the variety

The Cultifort Early Clementine is an early variety that can be harvested between 7 and 15 days earlier than other mandarins or clementines.

It features a vigorous, open-formed tree that produces good-sized, juicy, easy-to-peel, seedless fruit. Its ripening period is between September and October, making it a very attractive option for the market.

In the northern hemisphere, harvesting takes place from mid- to late September to late October, while in the southern hemisphere it takes place between mid- to late February and late March.

It adapts well to different soil types and climatic conditions, offering a stable and abundant yield. Its consistent quality and performance have contributed to its acceptance among farmers and companies in the sector.
