CLEMENTINE

History

In 1998, Rafael Sendra, manager of the company Cultifort, detected through direct observation in the Pego area of Alicante the emergence of a new variety that had arisen from a spontaneous mutation in the Oronules bud. After monitoring it for several seasons, it was researched at the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA) for a decade.

After ten years of research, it was confirmed that it was indeed a new variety of early clementine with characteristics that made it unique.

This new variety was patented under the name Cultifort, after the manager of the Cultifort company had discovered it and in honor of the company.

The Cultifort early clementine began marketing in 2011, enjoying a great market reception. It is currently present in many countries and is well established in Spain, Italy, and South Africa.
